Kalle Anka x 2

Wich cover do you prefer? And why do you prefer it?
It would be interesting to hear your thoughts.
Both are Swedish and released just three months apart, BTW.

Hej Joakim

Er der en D-kode trykt i boksen på forsiden af test-bladet? Samme cover på http://coa.inducks.org/issue.php?c=dk/AA2008-S1 ..

Hilsen Ole

I like the one on the right better, though the drawing could've been shoved more downwards (and maybe the title a bit as well), so everything would've been more evenly spread. Now there's this big gap at the bottom.

Where's the rightside issue rom?

The issue to the right is a special edition sent out to a few selected subscribers. I guess just a few hundred were printed in December last year.
Contains different material, layout etc on the inside compared to the regular edition to the left.
A test for a proposed new look.

No D-code printed on the cover unfortunately.

I actually think the left one will sell more copies, it grabs the attention more in the newsstand. (Sorry)

Nothing to be sorry about! Unfortunately I believe so too. The right cover is more balanced with focus on the artwork and classic design, but people browsing the magazine stands are looking for entertainment and then the left cover will most likely be picked up more often. Unfortunately.

Judging by the sales of the comic book Bamse, wich has covers like the right one, I think that the right cover actually might sell better. :)

And since the cover usually is covered by a plastic toy, it really shouldn't matter wich cover to use. The toy is more important than cover and contents when it comes to sales.

Well, Bamse has a near monopoly for the age group of pre-schoolers.

And those cheap toys are a nuisance, and the plastic wrapping makes it impossible to peruse the contents...

I love that right cover, it looks so atractive to me, old style. But I agree to person who said, that on the left will sell better.

btw, you have great blog and I am visiting it every day. Good luck to you.
