A few years after the timeline displayed here, Western Publishing would enter the home video market with a series of videos adapting many familiar Little Golden Book classics into animation (though very limited). I use to had those tapes in my youth. Of course I felt more ashamed they gave up on the Gold Key Comics line in the 80's, but I guess they saw no potential to keep that afloat.
