Meanest Colt in the West

Thought that horse in yesterdays post looked familiar.
And today I remembered where I had seen it before.
Vacation Parade #2 / Walt Disney's Serier 6/1954

Seems that Barks used the above Murry image as inspiration for his cover/oilpainting.

/Joakim.

 PS.
In 1977 "Donald Duck Captures the Range Rustlers" was re-drawn by Vicar.
So that's yet another version of that horse. Are there more?

Yep, Joakim.

Look at the cover to WDC&S #405, June 1974. Penciled by Barks, inked by Larry Mayer.

Best,
Alberto

Oops! It was in your previous post.

Sorry, I'm getting old...

That's OK, Alberto! :)

Interesting that you give Larry Mayer as inker. INDUCKS lists Garé and checking the Scandinavian Carl Barks Collection Geoff Blum don't mention the inker at all. Just saying it was inked by someone at Western. But it quotes Barks mentioning someone at Western doing a new cleanup based on his painting.
(Don't have the book here right now, but I hope my memory serves me right.)

So: Larry or Garé? (Or maybe Larry did the cleanup and Gare inked it? )
