Time to play "Name that cartoonist"! :)
Since there now are over 700 different people visiting this blog every month I thougth I should put you all to a test. I know that there are plenty of knowledge about comics among you out there, but...
do you know what the cartoonists behind the stories and art from the classic era of comics looked like?
Let's start with one really easy and another wich might be a little harder.
The first is dated 1/7/25 and taken at Palm Beach. The second is dated 2/12/25 and taken at Madison Square Garden.
Any guesses?

Ethel Hays and Tad. What's my prize ?
Nope, you got them both wrong.
Rose O'Neill and George McManus?
---Fortunato
Oh, I don't know how they look... I just know a bit about their comics... :-)
The guy looks a bit like Outcault, but he died in '28 and this pic doesn't look like it.
Bravo, Fortunato!
George McManus is right!
Here he's seen with his dog named... Jiggs(!) at a kennel show.
But still, who's the woman who became famous for her roundfaced kids?
OK! Guess this one was way too hard to crack.
Grace Drayton of Campbell kids fame, is the correct answer.
Just a little question.. are these pictures by any chance in the public domain? I just wondered.. if it's so, could I please use them in the Seriewikin (since photon are so few there due to problems with swedish PUL law) and if it's OK, do you perhaps have them in a somewhat higher resolution?
I don't know if they are in the public domain.
But I don't think anyone knows who owns the copyright. And McManus and Drayton are both dead so you can't ask them for permission anyway. Use them, I say...
