[Edit: Germund solved it himself, after I pointed out that there was a Donald Duck strip on the comics page. "Oh, that's the one with the egg!" I heard him saying... That would date it to ca August 18, 1945. Case closed.]
My friend Germund has this photo of comic strip artist Ray Gotto in his collection.
Now he's wondering wich date it was taken.
Impossible to know, you say? Well, if you look closely you'll see hes looking at the comics page.
Any hardcore comic strip fans out there who can identify wich year and date this photo was taken?

I would like to have a higher resolution, but I think I couldspot Mopsy, Blondie, Popeye and The Phantom on top.
(Note however that it's possible Ray Gotto could be reading an older newspaper.)
Well, we have Blondie, Popeye, The Phantom on top. And Mopsy. Gotto began drawing Ozark Ike late 1945, so I believe the photograph is from sometime 1945-55 (it's a promotional photograph, by the way, and another photo of Roy Crane from the same series has a King Features stamp on the back).
And , well, this is about as good reproduction you'll get. I can't make out much more from the photograph itself.
The bottom left corner might also include Barney Google and Snufty Smith, Terry and the Pirates or Steve Canyon and Donald Duck (Taliaferro). I'm not a 100% on these guesses, though.
I managed to solve it myself actually, but it's a fun challenge so I won't spoil the fun if anybody else wants to try.
Yes, it was late '45 (I identified JOHNNY HAZARD strip).
Is that Suzie Q. Smith below Mopsy?
